About Me

Hi, I’m Gemma, mum to Kasper & Freyja and a certified Infant, Autism & Anxiety Sleep Consultant.

Following Kasper’s birth, my husband and I suffered severe sleep deprivation, we just could not get him to settle. We spent over 18 months feeding him to sleep, rocking him to sleep and taking turns to sleep ourselves, as Kasper had to be held all night otherwise he would wake up as soon as we tried to put him down in his cot!

With baby number 2 on the way we were desperate, we thought we had tried everything, until a friend suggested that we get in touch with an Infant Sleep Consultant that she followed on social media.

We were a little sceptical, I didn’t even know such a service existed, but we were at the point where we felt we had nothing to lose, so we got in contact.

What a GAME CHANGER!!

I can honestly say it was the best decision that we could have made. It may sound dramatic to say that working with the Sleep Consultant was absolutely life changing, but it truly was!

Within a few days Kasper had learnt how to self-settle independently in his cot and was sleeping through the night! We had our evenings back and we were ALL finally getting a good night’s sleep! As I said, life changing!

Sleep deprivation affects literally EVERY part of your life, your mood, your ability to make decisions, comfort eating, energy levels, the list goes on. It wasn’t until we had come out the other side that we realised just how low we were and how much the Sleep Consultant had changed our lives.

Coming from a family with a broad spectrum of neurodiversity, I am all too aware of the huge lack of support on offer for families with children that have additional needs. Sleep is essential for brain development, developing social skills and mental health, it sets the foundations for your day, and traditional methods often aren’t effective when working with neurodivergent children, so I decided to continue my studies to become one of the few Autism and Anxiety certified sleep specialists.

The way we communicate with our little ones can make such a difference. It enhances their ability to express feelings, helps them to boost their confidence and contributes to their overall emotional well-being. I am accredited by Elklan to support children under 5 years old with their speech & communication skills and I am also a basic Makaton user.

Knowing that life doesn’t have to be a huge blur of exhaustion spurred me on to leave my successful career in project management and re-train as an Infant Sleep Consultant. I know first-hand how horrendous being deprived of sleep makes you feel. I am now really excited to help empower other parents tackle their little ones sleep challenges, banish bedtime battles and achieve their children’s sleep potential.
